This is a video of my Jeti DS24 screen running the Dave McQueeny GPS Triangle Lua app. It uses the new light background and a Glider moving icon. The GPS unit was the RC Electronics Sparrow unit flying with a Shinto J electric glider on a 200m light class GPS Triangle course.

Valenta Chilli flying GPS Triangle 6 Laps in total. Please listen in Stereo.
Переглядів 4,7 тис.3 роки тому
This video shows 6 laps of a GPS Sports Class Triangle being flown. The plane has a RC Electronics Sparrow and Tek nozzle fitted. The ground station consists of a Snipe with it's stereo audio output being fed to a Sony AX53 camcorder and the data being fed to a Samsung S9 Android phone running the Albatross app. The picture on the phone was a screen capture and also a Mobius Mini camera was fit...
Chilli and Albatross combined

Launch of a Valenta Chilli using the Albatross App for GPS Triangle Racing. A complete flight was not recorded as the battery failed on the Mobius Mini camera after less than one lap completed. I will be making another video soon showing more of the data that can be viewed in the App.
GP15 at BoPeep

This is a video of my GP15 from Baudismodels. The gauges were added with Dashware, the camera is a Mobius. It's interesting to see the stress on the canopy when the motor is on and during the landing. The model weighs 5.4Kg with a wingspan of 4.3m. The motor draws about 68 amps on a 6S 2.2AH Lipo, and turns a 20x18 propellor at 6050 rpm.

John McCurdy Dynamic Soaring on the South Face at Ivinghoe Beacon. The wind is blowing from the North but he is flying on the South Face. Imagine flying F3F like this on the back side of a hill. I think this was filmed in about 1996.

Is this filled with helium ??? Fascinating aircraft. Thx
Beautiful images, I was also able to test this new glider that I have just acquired, the link to the film of my first flights. ua-cam.com/video/sZUTxH4cfoU/v-deo.html
Magical
Thanks so much for this. I was a schoolboy helper at this event ( in 'Tx Control' if I remember rightly), great memories! York UK (on the Knavesmire) btw.
I’m considering buying one. I love the rudder response.
Awesome man! Im just getting into these big sailplanes si im googling on Asw17 and found your video and its awesome! May i ask you what motor you got in there? I need to deside on my powertrain. Got no one to tow it. And whats the auw feom yours? Last one haha you got any numbers on cg?

You can clearly hear the vortex streets:)

Beautiful, and it's suprisingly fast!
Nice plane Greg. Think I need a bigger paper round, till I can get one of them. Lovely flight.
Very nice.
There is new jet wxt motors can't wait to walk way out on the grass and smell the hot bricks on the school.as I walk by ready for free flights love flying jet ex motors and your a cool dude
A bit underpowered no?. Dude shove a Estes C-6-0 in the that thing and go vertical up to 400 feet! Then you can fly around a bit longer.
Stunning sailplane. Where did you buy it from? Thanks so much for sharing the video
It's an ASW 17S and you can get it from www.chocofly.com/modelle-semi-scale/
Es. Hola mi mamá
This video is getting a lot of views, can somebody tell me where they were recommended to view it. Was it a you tube link or Facebook or somewhere else.
I was already subscribed, so it was just as I viewed through the list that I came across it on Y.T.
Finally 100K views
What is the power setup in the model shown -- motor, prop, esc, cells? Thanks!
hoher stand .. mit dem rad
Klar wenn du ein FES System hast braucht du Bodenfreiheit, sonst kannst du keinen Bodenstart machen.
"Scotty.... we need MORE POWER !" Nice Job
Should not be to difficult to put in a bigger M.R engine, then you’ll have JATO or as the WW2 Germans called it, “RATO.”

Is a documentation of the conversion available?

That was cool Javad :-)
Hey Alistair, thanks, little fun ;-)) I have to take it to Jet meeting next time :-))
historical footage
wow!
what was that Kobli...
Thanks for this Greg, as a newcomer it really does help to make sense of what to expect. Right now I am still getting to grips with flying my model with the confidence needed to be able to also look at the screen regularly. The information through the phones also takes a bit of getting used to, but this video does help to make sense of it all.
Some nice flying there Greg and a well deserved 30pts on landing. Or have I forgotten how many we get for the spot, being it's been that long ago now...... Bet the CG on that flying scythe is pretty critical and well forward.
Oh. first sector, ;-)
Hi Stephan, sorry about the first leg. I was talking to David to see if the screen grab was working. I promise better flying on the next video :-)
@@greglewis8972 how did you get it to say next point
Enter into the sector. Perhapse. The fullsize gliderpilots say it like this.
Amazing footage and info. overlay. Very informative, thanks for sharing.
Another more informative video is going to be made using stereo audio from Snipe RX
Those motors are very rare. Would love to find some for myself.
I make it now...
@@ravebrave8866 how?

coolll!!! make more videos, please!!
Fantastic. Music?
I use a Hacker A30-14L with 40A ESC and 12x6.5 prop. Get around 9 mins on 2700 mAH 4S pack. Disappointed with the thin cowling/nose-cone, it is eggshell thin and cracks. Recommend adding a layer of very light GF cloth on inside.
Wow, down the road from Dunstable Downs. I always enjoyed flying at White Sheet and Wingreen. Thanks again for the video.
Always loved the lines of the Sitar Special...
I did have a lot more footage but I cannot find the rest. I guess it is lost forever.
Wow this is a blast from the past. Thanks for spending the time getting it on here. Looks like HQ himself was there. Dr. Walt Good had a Samun. Cool video.
Glad you enjoyed it. I had intended to put a commentary on it but never got around to it. I still have the original low band Umatic video tapes and a few interviews I did with the competitors on reel to reel 1/4" audio tape but no access to a tape machine now.
@@f3fisa To bad I live across the pond as I could loan you one of mine!
Thanks for editing, shooting, trans-coding and sharing this gem.
I agree, why are the dogs on a leash????
Just put one of these together useing the quantum 36 on a overlander 3s 2900 good vertical performance quick on the glide and pretty floaty.
Are you using the Quantum 11 36 motor?
killer landing :)
Great looking slope soarer. Nice flying also!
Where did you get this?! How do I get it?!
Very nice! Was that your canopy coming off during the first flip?
Yes, I was doing an outside flip, I now use a rubber band around the canaopy.
Seems to work well....as long as it isn't trying to track anything and focus... ;)
Yes I tried it tracking my model glider on new firmware and it was just as bad as normal, but hey at least I can use it static as a 4K/30 or HD and 120fps and a 65x zoom lens.
wow, that's cool even without any motion.
Ahi is upbeat lively fluid fun and joy - as seen in your flying one - music choice ain't a happy fit!
20-25! Thank you :-)
